Coordinating family schedules helped make this Europe trip a reality as we reconnected with loved ones and met our two-month-old nephew. Even with that focus, we kept a brisk pace, rediscovering Europe’s timeless charm, abundance of travellers, and all the small quirks that need no mention.
Don’t mistake this for a vacation — it’s merely an exploration of some of the last remaining frontiers of Europe for two lucky travellers. This is essentially two trips in one with a well crafted itinerary that blends flavours of present, past and way-stuck-in-the-past.
When country music mecca and honky tonk heaven comes calling, you answer the call with enthusiasm. This also brings about a satisfying catch up from missed travel of Summer 2024.
We are venturing into uncharted territory and going 35° south of the equator. On the menu are heart-melting empanadas, tacos, and churros, as well as a few short visits to important historic grounds from the world’s greatest sporting event.
The well-timed getaway launched without anyone knowing or even asking, so it became the perfect escape. We fully indulged in the viejo urban vibes of two of the largest Caribbean settlements plus Miami combo, all while missing out on some gross weather back home.
Michelle takes a solo trip to Saskatoon and discovers just how much work Alex does to make videos and keep detailed travel records.
It was a severely compromised itinerary due to a physical ailment that required immediate medical attention and subsequent recovery time. As we grappled with the reality of returning home two weeks early, our mental strength and preparedness was put to the ultimate test.
Dialing back the globetrotting for some local scenery and wildlife in a week full of exploring while we meet with some friends and cheer on the Canucks in Round 2 Playoffs.
Fully encompassed by Ramadan season, the first pandemic postponed adventure has finally arrived. After four years, the original itinerary is mostly intact and we are ready to unlock a new part of the world that is rapidly growing and gaining much attention.
This lengthy tour of all former Yugoslav states and a few neighbouring countries was a very complex logistical puzzle. With only about 24-72hrs in each place, we kept pace with our ambitious plan by taking all modes of transport to get to the next destination as we discovered the subtle differences and overarching similarities in the fascinating Balkans region.
It’s a new chapter of the greatest adventure of them all and the maiden journey is to the Malay Peninsula and the adjacent exotic islands. We are in search of good food, warm weather, local wildlife, fun activities, and hidden gems.
Capping off a great year of travel recovery and catch up with our fourth international trip. Treacherous hills, historic landmarks, perfect weather, yummy food and solid planning contributed to an ultra-efficient and memorable 5-day thriller ride.
We’re going A to B and applying complex math equations within 4×EU countries. Embracing local life with a daily balance of past and present and taking in endless UNESCO sites — that’s our formula for Amsterdam to Berlin in 5 weeks.
The list of activities, attractions and wonders of the Evergreen State is long and they have finally earned their spotlight. We are wandering and putting together another kick-ass road trip in the comfortably warm month of May.
The return to international travel, long-haul flights, foreign currencies, plenty of cultural flavours and some exhilarating local activities. It’s Europe and Asia at the exact same time and packaged just how we like it and we’re going for it. #helloturkiye
Omicron, restrictions, snowfall, constant cancellations and border-crossing uncertainty are all mounting obstacles getting in the way of our travel freedom and it’s getting really annoying but despite all that, we have wintery Victoria on showcase.
